Victory at Last !
Massachusetts Legislature passes Transgender Equal Rights Bill.
The new law passed by both the MA House and Senate was enacted today ending a long and hard fought campaign for Transgender rights. As of today it is illegal to discriminate against transgender individuals in employment, housing and credit. Although not as encompassing as it could have been the law is a major step forward.
The law stops short on ensuring protection in public accommodations however and sponsors and supporters have let the legislature know they will be coming back in the future to work on securing that protection also.
